Lorient Embraces Solar Energy
We’re proud to announce a major milestone in our sustainability journey: the installation of 855 solar panels at our manufacturing facility and offices in Devon! This move towards renewable energy is a major step forward in our mission to achieve net zero.
Key Benefits
Our new solar panels enable us to produce clean, renewable energy and reduce our environmental footprint - here we take a look at the stats:
Energy Efficiency:
The solar panels are expected to generate approximately 359MWh of renewable energy annually, covering around 55-65% of our energy needs.
Carbon Reduction:
This initiative will help us avoid at least 90 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year.
Commitment to Sustainability:
It aligns with our environmental policy and ISO 14001 certification, demonstrating our dedication to minimising environmental impact and improving resource efficiency.
Our Environmental Policy
Since 2008, our commitment to environmental responsibility has been demonstrated through our ongoing ISO 14001 certification. This certification has provided us with a solid framework to meet our environmental obligations while helping us improve resource efficiency, reduce energy use, cut waste, and save on raw material costs. Guided by our environmental policy, we’re committed to:
- Meeting, and where possible, exceeding environmental regulations.
- Minimising and responsibly managing waste.
- Preventing pollution risks through careful oversight.
- Using resources as efficiently as possible.
